Della Reese: Film and TV icon, we loved her as Tess, the wise angel on the TV drama, “Touched by an Angel;” she was 86. Dick Gregory: Comedic legend, civil rights icon, social critic, author, philanthropist, entrepreneur; he was 84. Fats Domino: Rock and roll music pioneer, piano player extraordinare; he as 89. Joni Sledge: Vocalist and sibling member of the R&B group, Sister Sledge; she was 60. Rick Stevens: Former lead singer of the R&B group, Tower of Power; he was 77. Robert Guillaume: Actor, best known for his roles on the TV series “Soap” and “Benson;” he was 89. Melissa Bell: Vocalist and member of the soulful ensemble, Soul II Soul; she was 53. Warren Pete Moore: Vocalist and original founding member of the Motown group, The Miracles; he was 78.
