No article of clothing resonates better than a sports jacket or blazer. The garment is typically worn without matching pants and fits like a suit jacket except that it is not part of a suit. Men typically run the gamut as far as what they chose to wear underneath but a blazer is capable of making a white tee look slick, a sweater look professorial, or a button-down, look buttoned-up.
Single or double-breasted jackets, vented or not, fancy or plain buttons, unlined or lined, classic or trim fit, patch or flap pockets; wool, suede, velvet or even sequined, anything goes these days. The only thing that matters is what looks good on you! If the sports jacket you’re wearing makes you feel like a million bucks every time you glance at your reflection in a mirror, then it’s a good buy!
Our resident reluctant fashionista, Judyth Watson-Remy, selected some sports jackets for the well-dressed, middle-aged gent who wants to make style a top priority.
