Folks come from miles around to join in celebration of the colorful, artsy and musical vibes of the African diaspora in Brooklyn at the International African Arts Festival. For the last 39 years, the outdoor event has included African dance, music, arts & crafts and tons of food. Vendors near and far showcase their riveting wares as they transform the Brooklyn neighborhood where it is held into a global marketplace. The relaxed atmosphere is a diverse cultural explosion with a multitude of ethnicities, all enjoying, strolling, eating, dancing and soaking up the flavors of everything that is pan-African. The festival is being held this year at Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park and runs from July 2 through July 5 (rain or shine).
