Remember, back-in-the-day, when we loved claiming our roots and dressing in our African-inspired finest? Every year, DanceAfrica takes place on Memorial Day weekend in Brooklyn. The nation’s largest outdoor festival dedicated to African diasporic dance and music in now in its 46th year. Folks from all over the globe come to revel in the pageantry of it all! There are live performances, an African market, food vendors, and oral histories. The event is always guaranteed to inspire, invigorate, educate, and entertain.
