1. Run Errands and Get Paid

Some busy folks or families need to get things done but have no time to do them. If you need a little extra money and don’t mind running errands or performing side jobs like putting together Ikea furniture, TaskRabbit might be a great gig for you. TaskRabbit is a task-based service that operates in 47 U.S. cities and connects users, called Taskers, to paying gigs. Taskers are paid an hourly rate or a per-task price, minus a service fee. There’s also a possibility of tips, 100% of which go to the Tasker. Jobs that have the “highest earning potential” are handyman-type tasks, moving, and cleaning, according to the company. Basically, picking up dry cleaning, dropping off packages at the post office, and getting prescriptions filled can earn you a rate of about $30 per hour, depending on your city. (

2. Try Dog Walking with Rover

Rover is North America’s largest network of pet walkers and sitters and allows you to charge your own rate. By signing up as a dog sitter through Rover, you’ll be connected to a nationwide network of pet owners in need of caring providers who offer boarding, pet sitting, or dog walking. Sitters are also encouraged to send photo updates to their pets’ owners each day to ease their minds. Rover’s standards are strict, and the screening process is thorough: Only about a third of applicants are accepted into the program, according to the company. According to Rover, you can earn $1,000 per month as a part-timer and full-timers can pocket an average of $3,000 a month. (

3. Become a ‘Looker’ for WeGoLook

WeGoLook, hires folks to check stuff out and verify potential purchases. An interested buyer requests verification of what they are interested in buying; a Looker located near the item pays an on-site visit to assess the product and collect data, pictures, videos, etc. The Looker offers a report to WeGoLook, which outlines the findings for the prospective buyer. Lookers can earn between $15 – $30 per task, but depending on how complex or time-consuming a task is, you can earn up to $200. Lookers with an expertise in certain areas like antiques or auto mechanics tend to earn more money because they’re assignment might be more labor intensive. In addition, military vets get first dibs on assignments. (

4. Shop and Deliver Groceries for Shipt Members

Shipt is a service that allows members to order groceries and alcohol from their local store for delivery right to their door. As a Shipt employee, you shop for the member’s items, and deliver them all within a requested timeframe. The pay is up to $22 per hour and you can set your own hours. Being able to lift at least 25 pounds is a requirement for the job. (

5. Drop Off Packages with Amazon Flex

If you want to combine walking with driving, you can become a delivery driver with Amazon Flex. As a delivery partner, most of your walking might very well be from your vehicle to someone’s front door.  Flex drivers pick up packages from stations and deliver them to customers using directions from a Flex app. Amazon Flex shifts come in 1-4 hour blocks that can be scheduled ahead of time or as shifts become available, and the pay is typically $18 – $25 per hour plus tips.  (
